Outlook Backup Assistant FAQ

• Yes. Generally, restoring your backup from older version to a higher version of Outlook is not a problem.
• For example, you can restore your backup from Outlook 2003 to Outlook 2010. All data included in the backup will be transferred.

• Yes. You can backup several accounts at the same time, including all associated PST files and all other data and settings.
• You can even make these backups automatically.

Outlook Backup is a software product from another company. We do not have an official comparison, but from a quick look at Backup Outlook (BO), it seems that our Outlook Backup Assistant (OBA) is more powerful:

• Outlook Backup Assistant (OBA) back-ups much more data - its backup is complete.
• OBA comes with Backup File Viewer which allows you to view and browse your backed up data.
• OBA's automatic backup works even if it's not running.
• OBA probably uses better encryption - AES. BO probably just passwords protects the ZIP file, which is easy to bypass.
• OBA comes with Outlook Add-In which can start backup automatically after Outlook is shutdown.
• OBA supports backup of Exchange Offline Files, and Business Contact Manager data.
• OBA has ability to choose which accounts to backup.
• OBA has integrity checks for verification of the backup files.
• OBA has more powerful restore options for PST files (Override existing, Insert into Outlook, Insert as StandardFile…). This is important when the backup that is being restored shouldn't delete/overwrite the existing data!
