I haven't logged into Facebook at work since like 2009. Or personal email or anything else. In an emergency, sure. But get the thing straight: Work ain't that stuff! Nor do I think that stuff makes work easier! Does having less time for work make a task easier or harder?? I believe I have a limited supply of attention, and if I use any of it on screwing off, it's still gone.

2x 24" portrait mode Dell DVIs suspended by a custom metal frame chained to wall mounts. Installation time with stud finder = 15 minutes. I work laying down on a small leather ottoman, my body completely relaxed. I write on paper prints and scan to PDF in email. I'm hyper-creative, hyper-ergo, and hyper-organized. Yeah, that's what it takes. Yeah, work means zero distractions. Yeah I make the most money in my field. Yeah you could do it too if you carry these basic tips to their logical extremes.

If you have a hyper office, shutting down email through the day can help. Interruption is the enemy. But don't overdo it, or you'll kill real-time collab, which can be useful.

Just saw this and want to share it in here.

“If you are not making the progress that you would like to make and are capable of making, it is simply because your goals are not clearly defined.”

Swift To-Do List is the answer and I highly recommend it.
